Ultrasound imaging is also a great diagnostic tool. It provides the doctors with information on the structure and blood flow of the internal organs. We use this to target sampling of body cavity fluid and to assist the veterinarians in guiding the needle in the exact location of lesions, if necessary, to keep all of the surrounding organs safe. It also helps to detect and diagnose cancer affecting abdominal and other soft tissue organs, evaluate the urinary tract for cause of blood in urine, determine the cause of abdominal pain, intestinal disorders, and abdominal masses.
For a more thorough and complete ultrasound examination, we may schedule a board-certified radiologist and/or internal medicine specialist to come to our clinic and perform an ultrasound on your pet. These radiologists and internists have received specialized training in order to accurately image your pet’s internal organs to help aid in the diagnosis of certain diseases.
From noses to toes, and ears to rears, patients who suffer from any combination of pain, inflammation, or slow-healing wounds benefit from laser therapy!
