ECLAP now provides Video Endoscopy services which allow us to examine your horse for gastric
(stomach) ulcers. We have a new state of the art gastroscope/endoscope system that provides instant digital images to view during an exam. Keep in mind before an Endoscopy exam can be performed, the horse cannot have food 12 hours before the exam and no water 4 hours before.
Symptoms which make Gastroscopy warranted are:
- Intermittently off feed
- Unexplained bouts of colic
- Weight loss
- Poor athletic performance
- Dull hair coat
- Grinding teeth
- Excessive salivation
